Spanish Senate holds international conference on Azerbaijan

APA reports that Deputy Prime Minister, chairman of the State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sevinj Hasanova, MPs Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Fazil Mustafa, Faraj Guliyev, Ayaz Orujov, Zahid Oruj and Jeyhun Osmanli attended the event held on the initiative of head of the Azerbaijani delegation to Euronest PA Elkhan Suleymanov.

About 80 Spanish senators and MPs including the Senate vice-speaker and chairman of Foreign Affairs Committee attended the conference. About 70 Spanish academicians and professors, scientists, representatives of media, NGO and civil society participated in the discussions.

Addressing the event, Suleymanov informed about Azerbaijani realities and Armenian occupation. Ali Hasanov, chairman of the State Committee for Deals of Refugees and IDPs made speech on the Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict, its reasons and results and Sevinj Hasanova, Deputy Minister of Economic Development, on “Economic development and prospects of Azerbaijan”.

Vice President of the Spanish Senate Juan Jose Lucas, president of the Senate’s Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Commission Alejandro Muñoz-Alonso, director of the Institute of Strategic and International Studies at the Catholic University of Valencia Jesus Salvador and member of the Mexican Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Commission Jesus Ramirez made speeches at the hearings. Following the speeches, the Azerbaijani delegation and Spanish side participated in the discussion on the theme.
