Moscow. Farid Akberov – APA. “The world community should assess what happened on January 20”, Slovakian Ambassador to Russia and Azerbaijan Josef Migash said to APA’s Moscow correspondent. He said double standards should be avoided in the assessment of such tragedies: “This is a terrible tragedy. Use of military power against peaceful population is inadmissible. I attend commemorative events on January 20 tragedy every year. These events can be analyzed better as time passes. The Azerbaijani people demanded the freedom they deserve. However, the Soviet Union sent military vehicles and brutally killed peaceful civilians. I have been to Azerbaijan several times. I had an opportunity to watch documentaries on January 20 and speak to the witnesses of the tragedy. I condemn this tragedy on behalf of my country”.

He called on the world community to assess this event: “This is a terrible tragedy. The world community should clearly and openly speak about it”.
