Baku hosts conference “Energy Efficiency: economic, institutional aspects and perspectives”   - <span style="color: red;">PHOTOSESSION

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. The Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan (SAM) has organized a conference “Energy Efficiency: economic, institutional aspects and perspectives” in Baku. APA reports that delivering a speech at the conference, SAM director Farhad Mammadov said that Azerbaijan gave much attention to the issues on energy security.

Jamil Malikov, Deputy Director of the State Agency on Alternative and Renewable Energy Resources noted that several decisions on use of alternative and renewable energy resources have been made since 2004 up to now. The relevant state agency has been established at the Ministry of Industry and Energy. The European Commission supported the development of action plan, preparation of strategy and establishment of legislative base in this sphere. The European Commission allocated € 13 million grants for all events in Azerbaijan.

Edyta Novak, adviser of EU's Azerbaijan representation on energy sphere has spoken about the policy and measures of the European Union in increasing energy sufficiency.
