Malahat Najafova - APA. “Common historical and cultural past of Azerbaijan and Iran paves the way for the development of political and economic relations,” Azerbaijan’s ambassador to Iran Javanshir Akhundov said while meeting with the members of Iran-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group, APA reports quoting IRNA.
Touching on the common cultural and historical past of both nations ambassador said the bilateral relations will deepen the friendship.
“Development of Azerbaijan-Iran railroad and establishment of free trade zone will give an impetus to the development of economic and commercial relations,” he said.
Head of Iran-Azerbaijan interparliamentary friendship group Mehdi Sanai said the group led by him supports any step taken towards the development of commercial relations. Speaking about the bilateral and regional cooperation, head of the group said the enemies must not be allowed to mar these relations through provocations.
