Today, during his working visit to Hungary, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, was received by the President of Hungary, Tamás Sulyok, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan told APA.
It was noted that during the meeting, the development of the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Hungary — based on friendship, mutual respect, and close cooperation — was welcomed with satisfaction.
The importance of high-level reciprocal visits, continuous political dialogue, people-to-people contacts, and humanitarian ties between the two countries was emphasized.
It was also stated that the results of the 11th meeting of the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Governments of Azerbaijan and Hungary, held on September 5 in Budapest, gave an additional boost to the development of relations.
During the meeting, it was highlighted that Hungary is the third-largest investor in Azerbaijan, particularly in the energy sector. Investment plans in pharmaceuticals and several other areas were also discussed. Satisfaction was expressed with the development of cooperation in air transport, and the importance of ongoing work in green energy, transit and communication, educational scholarships, and other fields was underlined.
Confidence was expressed that these and other issues would be discussed in detail within the framework of the 3rd Azerbaijan-Hungary Strategic Dialogue.
The importance of further strengthening cooperation based on mutual trust and support within international platforms — including the UN, the Organization of Turkic States, and European institutions — was noted.
Other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest were also discussed during the meeting.

Post-conflict realities in our region, normalization process with Armenia as well as rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts in Azerbaijan’s liberated territories were touched upon as well.
The sides highlighted the growing cooperation within regional and multilateral frameworks, underscoring a shared commitment to further enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
