"Despite all of these, and challenges we faced last weeks while looking ahead I can say that the European Union (EU) is in a good position in the South Caucasus - in the direction of contribution to normalization of Azerbaijani-Armenian relations," Toivo Klaar, the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Georgian crisis, said on October 10 during the discussions in the European Parliament, APA reports.
According to him, the EU is in contact with Baku and Yerevan at different levels.
EU Special Representative has stressed that full support of the European Parliament and member countries to EU's efforts in the peace process is very essential.
"Situation in the region remains very dangerous, the situation is unstable. There is a feeling of anger, remaining from the last 30 years. However, as neighbors of these two countries, we should help them. We should help them to defeat it. Because it is important for the prosperous and peaceful South Caucasus," Klaar added.
He has noted that there is much work to do in the direction of obtaining fair peace.
