"The implementation of the “Trump Route” (TRIPP) project is based on an agreement reached between the United States and Armenia, and the EU is approaching this issue within a broader framework of regional connectivity while holding discussions with the U.S," said Marta Kos, EU Commissioner for Enlargement while speaking about the potential participation of the European Union in the “Trump Route” (TRIPP) project, APA reports, citing Armenpress.
“This is a route from Central Asia to Europe. We are talking about only a 42-kilometer section of the road. For us, it is important that the work we undertake is not limited to this 42-kilometre section but covers all directions extending both east and west, and that all these processes are carried out in parallel,” Marta Kos said.
She also noted that she requested Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, David Khudatyan, to present a list of the issues Armenia considers most important in terms of comprehensive connectivity.
“We also have our own ideas. We are discussing these matters with Türkiye and Azerbaijan. Therefore, dividing the work into separate parts makes no sense. However, in this context, cooperation or involvement from the United States is far more important than simply constructing a 42-kilometer railway segment,” Marta Kos emphasized.
