On June 19, a cooperation agreement on preparations for the Third Ministerial Meeting of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)—scheduled to take place in Baku on October 27–28 this year—was signed between the OIC and the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan, APA reports.
The document was inked by Heydar Mammadov, Azerbaijani Deputy Prosecutor General, and Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay, OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Political Affairs.
During their meeting, Deputy Prosecutor General Mammadov briefed the OIC official on Azerbaijan’s comprehensive institutional reforms to combat corruption. He highlighted the country’s consistent efforts in this area under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, as well as concrete results achieved in modernizing the legal framework, increasing transparency, and strengthening accountability across public administration.
The discussions thoroughly reviewed organizational matters related to the upcoming high-level ministerial event, while also focusing on ways to deepen cooperation and enhance expertise-sharing among OIC member states in the global fight against corruption.
Yousef Mohamed AlDobeay expressed his full confidence in Azerbaijan's excellent hosting capabilities, noting that the event is expected to bring together over 300 participants and will significantly boost anti-corruption collaboration across the Islamic world.
