C6 serves the formation of a more integrated geoeconomic and geopolitical space across the Caspian basin, Farid Shafiyev, Chairman of the Board of the Center of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Center), said during his speech at the international conference titled “C6: One Region, Shared Future – Strengthening Strategic Dialogue,” organized by the Center, APA reports.
Declaring the conference open, he noted that in November 2025, Azerbaijan joined the Consultative Meetings of the Heads of State of Central Asia as a full-fledged member, elevating the regional cooperation mechanism from the C5 to the C6 format.
Shafiyev emphasized that this decision demonstrates that regional cooperation has entered a new stage and contributes to the formation of a more integrated geoeconomic and geopolitical space throughout the Caspian basin.
He stressed that amid global competition and instability, connections between countries must be strengthened, transport routes diversified, and cooperation built on the basis of shared interests in order to ensure strategic resilience.
Describing C6 as a “practical and goal-oriented initiative,” the Center’s chairman stated that the format should not be limited solely to transit, but should also evolve into a functional platform in the fields of energy, investment, and renewable energy.
“Simply put, C6 expands the range of choices. And in the modern era, choices are of vital importance,” Shafiyev added.
