Azerbaijani Human Rights Defenders call Russia and Georgia to stop fighting

Baku. Lachin Sultanova–APA. Several Heads of NGOs functioning in Human Rights protection made a statement related to tensity in South Ossetia, APA reports.
The statement envisages that ongoing developments are result of long-term passive approaches on frozen conflicts in Caucasus. Human Rights Defenders consider that most of residents in South Ossetia are Russian citizens, but it is wrong action to entrust Russia to maintain peace in the territory. Human Rights Defenders called ongoing developments as Russia-Georgia war and called them to stop fighting and wanted international organizations to assist injured men.
Eldar Zeynalov and Zaliha Tahirova, heads of Azerbaijan Human Rights Protection Center, Elmira Alakbarova, head of Humanitarian Investigation Society, “El” Development Program Center, Novella Jafaroglu, Head of Azerbaijan Community on Women’s Rights Protection signed a statement.
