No problem in communication relations of Georgia and Azerbaijan

Baku. Rashad Suleymanov â€“ APA. Though Russian Military Air Forces are bombing Georgiaâ€™s territory, communication relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia are continuing as before. APA defined that there had not been any problems in transport, energy and other fields between the countries within the past two days. Transport Ministry told APA that cargo and passenger transportations to Georgia continued as before. The number of passengers in the buses en route from Azerbaijan to Tbilisi and other places of Georgia has not reduced. The number of passengers in the buses moving in the opposite direction increased.

Azerbaijan State Railway has not changed its traffic schedule to Georgia. Chief engineer of Azerbaijan State Railway Gurban Nazirov told APA that passenger transportation to Tbilisi continued as before. There are no problems in the cargo transportation as well. Oil and oil products, as well as other goods are being transported from Azerbaijan to Poti and Batumi ports.

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) has not delayed flights to Tbilisi. AZAL told APA if the situation became worse, the flight schedule might be changed in connection with the passengersâ€™ safety.

Press service of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) told APA that oil and gas transportation to Georgia had not been suspended. The company said only the operation of Kulevi terminal had been suspended and Azerbaijanis working there had been evacuated.

Vice-president of Azerenergy OJSC Marlen Asgarov told APA that energy exchange between the two countries continued. Asgarov said problems might occur in energy supply, if electric lines were out of order as a result of the bombing. Azerenergy official said in such cases the sides were not responsible.
â€œIf it happens, the sides will do their best to eliminate this problem,â€ he said.

In connection with the developments in Georgia, border checkpoints of Azerbaijan with the neighboring country strengthened the security. Frontier posts of Shamkir and Zagatala border checkpoints increased the number of personnel.
