Azerbaijani FM holds meetings with foreign officials in New York

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov met with Special Envoy of the U.S. Secretary of State for Eurasian Energy Richard Morningstar in New York. Press service of the Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan told APA that they discussed energy security and the issues on realization of regional energy projects and underlined the significance of these projects from the point of view of energy security.

Minister Mammadyarov met with Liberia’s Foreign Minister Toga Gayewea McIntosh within participation in the 66th session of the UN Security Council. they discussed bilateral relations, cooperation issues in the field of economy and energy as well as within international organizations.

The Joint CommuniquÃ© on establishment of diplomatic relations were signed between Azerbaijan and Congo within the meeting of Azerbaijani FM with Foreign Minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo Alexis Thambwe Mwamba. They also discussed the prospects of bilateral cooperation.

Then Mammadyarov exchanged view with U.S. Deputy Secretary of State William Burns on negotiations process over settlement of Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict. They discussed bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and U.S. and expressed consent on continuation of development of cooperation in various spheres, including energy.

Azerbaijani FM also met with Albanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Edmond Haxhinasto. They discussed the issues on development of cooperation in various spheres, including economy, trade and energy. Besides, they underlined the importance of organization of mutual visits and business forums for the increase of cooperation potential between Azerbaijan and Albania.
