Tbilisi. Nizami Mammadzadeh – APA. “There is no progress in the fields of delimitation and demarcation of state borders between Azerbaijan and Georgia”, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, Co-Chair of intergovernmental commission on delimitation and demarcation of Azerbaijan-Georgia borders David Chalaganiya told APA’s Georgia bureau.

Deputy Minister noted that during the last meeting in Balakan, Azerbaijan, the commission members achieved an agreement on permanent contact. He said that he has no details about the schedule of commission’s next meeting: “The delimitation of Azerbaijan-Georgia borders is not a problematic issue, but it just has a specific character”.

Commenting on the reports about the exchange of territories between the countries, Chalaganiya noted that this issue was not on agenda: “My colleague Khalaf Khalafov also avoids the issue of exchange of territory. But if it is needed, we can submit this issue to the commission to be discussed. I understand that I should to answer the journalist’s question. But we don’t have any important information and the working process is underway. It is not correct to assemble every 6 months. I wouldn’t like both countries to have disputes and questions on delimitation issues.”
