Baku International Humanitarian Forum to be held on initiative of Azerbaijani and Russian presidents

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is expected to attend the Forumâ€™s opening ceremony, APA reports with reference to the International Humanitarian Forum website. President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Mahmud Karimov, president of Russian Academy of Sciences Yuriy Osipov, UN and UNESCO representatives will attend the panel discussions.
Representatives of more than 20 countries are expected to attend the Forum, including people of art and culture, representatives and managers of the leading media, public figures, etc. Besides plenary sessions, the Forum will have several panel discussions on the following subjects: â€œhumanitarian aspects of economic development modelsâ€, â€œmodern technologies that have transformed the worldâ€, â€œtraditional value systems in a post-modern cultureâ€, â€œsocialist journalism and high-techâ€, â€œbio-technologies and ethical problemsâ€. The discussions will touch upon philosophical and humanitarian subjects that will provide answers to the questions facing mankind at the current stage of development.
The Baku International Humanitarian Forum is held on the initiative of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev.
The decision to conduct the Baku International Humanitarian Forum was made during the First Azerbaijani-Russian Forum on Humanitarian Cooperation held in Baku in January 2010.
