APA asked Ramiz Mehdiyev to make comments on Wikileaks materials about Azerbaijan, the countryâ€™s neighbors, officials with reference to former US ambassadors to Azerbaijan Reno Harnish, Ann Derse and other embassy staff. The head of the Presidential Administration said that materials published by Wikileaks with reference to the ambassadors worked in Azerbaijan at different times have no objective basis. â€œI notice that these are personal opinions and there are special people, who organize spread of these materials today. It seems somebody is interested in spread of such materials and in forming wrong ideas about Azerbaijan. Regarding the materials about me, these materials are ridiculous. They claimed in these materials that as if â€œRamiz Mehdiyev has close relations with Russiaâ€™s LUKoil Company, has large opportunities in the Russian ruling elite and business circles. He controls several companies and engages in construction business in the countryâ€. When I read these absurd, wrong and false materials, I became skeptical about the dividends brought by these materials to such superpower like the United States. If indeed this superpower establishes its policy towards other countries on the basis of subjective ideas expressed by its ambassadors, on the basis of lies and falsifications, it will be no difficult to imagine its influence in the future. It is difficult to think differently because recently such strange cases have been repeated frequentlyâ€.
