Azerbaijani President receives Swiss Vice President

Baku â€“ APA. On September 2, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Vice President of Switzerland and the head of the Federal Department of Finance Ms. Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf. According to APA, the Head of State underlined the successful development of relations between Azerbaijan and Switzerland.

President Aliyev called the high-level mutual visits as a mark of political relations between the countries.

Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of 20th anniversary of restoration of the state independence of Azerbaijan. She also underlined the importance of relations which were established 20 years ago.

Eveline Widmer-Schlumpf kindly reminded about the President Aliyevâ€™s official visit to Switzerland, his participation at the Davos Economic Forum and the fruitful meetings he held in this country. She stressed the importance of mutual visits for the development of bilateral relations.

An exchange of views on the prospects of development of Azerbaijan-Swiss relations took place at the meeting.
