YAP: â€œThe inclusion of the issue on the situation in the occupied Azerbaijani territories in agenda of the UN General Assemblyâ€™s 66th session has a great significanceâ€

The UN Security Council is the only organization that its decisions and resolutions must be fulfilled by all member countries. Indeed, the settlement of peace, tranquility, security and solution of current problems is under the UN mandate. This is a large organization, which has a political responsibilityâ€, deputy executive secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), MP Mubariz Gurbanli told YAPâ€™s website.

Gurbanli reminded that Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity was violated as a result of Armeniaâ€™s occupation policy: â€œThatâ€™s why the UN Security Council adopted 4 resolutions concerning the Armeniaâ€™s aggression against Azerbaijan. According to the resolutions, the occupied territories of Azerbaijan must be unconditionally liberated. But these resolutions have not been fulfilled yet. Armeniaâ€™s invader and non-constructive position forces Azerbaijan to bring diplomatic pressure on it. Azerbaijan can appeal once again to UN Security Council, but there are Security Councilâ€™s corresponding resolutions and our country proposes and demands the fulfillment of these resolutions. The necessary steps must be taken for the fulfillment of these resolutions. At first, the economic and political sanctions must be imposed against Armenia because this country doesnâ€™t observe the resolutions. But unfortunately, we donâ€™t see it because there are supporters of Armenia among the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. Their geopolitical interests and regional policy create such situationâ€.

Gurbanli said that despite all of it, Azerbaijani diplomacy is achieving successes. In his opinion, the inclusion of the issue on the situation in the occupied Azerbaijani territories in agenda of the UN General Assemblyâ€™s 66th session has great significance: â€œContinuing the line of attack diplomacy, Azerbaijan achieved the adoption of decisions by the international organizations concerning the occupation of 20% of our territories by Armenia. The Armenian propaganda machine can not fight against us as well as it can not form the negative opinion about us. We must bring Armenia to its knees and Armenia will be brought to its knees.â€
