Azerbaijani and Serbian foreign ministers meet in Baku

Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. A meeting between Azerbaijani and Serbian foreign ministers Elmar Mammadyarov and Vuk Jeremić was held in Baku. APA reports that following the meeting the ministers gave a briefing for the journalists. Mammadyarov said that they discussed the bilateral relations, including cooperation in the fields of culture, sports and investments: “The relations between our countries are in a high level. The 12 documents have been signed by the two countriesâ€. Mammadyarov said that the conflicts in the territory of both countries must be settled on the basis of principle of territorial integrity.
Jeremić said that Serbia rendered full political support to Azerbaijan. He said that they discussed the development of cooperation in the infrastructure sector, and reached agreement on holding of mutual cultural days, as well as Serbian Philharmonic Orchestra’s visit to Azerbaijan.
Commenting on the negotiation process on the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Mammadyarov noted that Azerbaijan’s position on this issue remained unchanged and Baku was ready to continue the negotiations: “We informed the public community and the co-chairs about our position regarding the phase-to-phase solution on the basis of Madrid principles. At the first stage, the Armenian army must be withdrawn from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. It will create opportunity for peace-building in the Caucasus and implementation of various reconciliation projects between Azerbaijan and Armenia. From the geo-strategic point of view, it will offer great opportunities for peace-building in the regionâ€.
