Azerbaijani Foreign Minister makes speech at meeting of ECO Council of Ministers

Elmar Mammadyarov underlined that the occupation of 20 percent of Azerbaijanâ€™s territories and internal displacement of one million people impeded peace and prosperity in the ECO region.

Minister said they want Nagorno Karabakh conflict to be solved within the framework of Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity and sovereignty and expressed gratitude to the ECO member countries for supporting Azerbaijanâ€™s position. Minister said infrastructure projects should be accelerated in order to strengthen the cooperation among the ECO member countries, and underlined the importance of completing and modernizing the construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars and Gazvin-Rasht-Astara railways. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister said Trans-Europe and Trans-Asia railway network and construction of new international sea ports will increase the volume of transport corridors in the region, it will strengthen the cooperation among the ECO member countries.
