Emin Aliyev, who is accused of murdering Azerbaijani citizen Fatima Karimova in Georgia, has been detained at Batumi International Airport, APA's local bureau reports.
According to Georgia's Ministry of Internal Affairs, the suspect was detained in close coordination with Turkish and Azerbaijani counterparts, as well as with the direct participation of Georgia's police attaché in Türkiye.
It should be noted that Fatima Karimova was murdered in Tbilisi on June 27. Emin Aliyev is also an Azerbaijani citizen. Georgia's Prosecutor General's Office has charged him with the intentional murder of a foreign citizen under aggravating circumstances. The offense carries a penalty of up to 20 years' imprisonment or life imprisonment.
