Elmar Mammadyarov meets with Korean Foreign Minister during his official visit to Seoul

Foreign Ministryâ€™s press service told APA that the sides highly appreciated the relations between the two countries, said the relationsâ€™ potential to develop is broader than the current situation, there is favorable condition for their development.

Elmar Mammadyarov underlined that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the extension of the all-round relations with the Republic of Korea, one of the developing states of the Eastern Asia, noted the importance of mutual visits of government representatives, scientists, culture figures and businessmen. Elmar Mammadyarov invited his Korean counterpart to Azerbaijan.

Korean Minister accepted the invitation. He said the economic relations between our countries are developing, Korea is interested in the extension of the relations in future. He noted that Azerbaijan is Koreaâ€™s major partner in 2011-2013.

Elmar Mammadyarov gave detailed information to his Korean counterpart about the current state of the negotiations on the resolution of Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh. He said Azerbaijan wants the conflict to be solved basing on the norms and principles of the international law and within the framework of the countryâ€™s territorial integrity.

Korean Minister Kim Sung-Hwan gave detailed information about the ongoing processes in the region, spoke about the current state of the relations with the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

The sides noted the importance of extending the relations in the humanitarian sphere, organizing exchange of experience between Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy and Koreaâ€™s Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security.
The ministers also exchanged views on a number of regional and global issues.
