Combating and preventing trafficking in human beings in Azerbaijan

According to APA, the workshop is organized by the Council of Europe, in co-operation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with a German voluntary contribution, in the framework of the co-operation programmes of the Council of Europe. This two-day workshop aims to contribute to strengthening institutional capacities in Azerbaijan for fighting and preventing trafficking in human beings in line with the provisions of the Council of Europe Convention on Action against Trafficking in Human Beings, which entered into force in the country on October 1, 2010.
Representatives from the Presidential Administration, the Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the State Border Service, the Border Guards and Police, the State Migration Office, judges and prosecutors as well as NGOs and media representatives are invited to take part in this event. Experts from 6 member states will share their experience with the Azerbaijani counterparts.
