Second round of negotiations for signing Azerbaijan-EU association agreement to be held next month

The second round of the negotiations for signing association agreement between Azerbaijan and the European Union will be held next month, Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev told journalists, APA reports. He said that the second round of the negotiations will take place in Baku in January.
â€œTill then we will continue negotiations through video conferences,â€ he said.

Deputy Minister said the association agreement is not ready for being signed.
â€œNo document is ready for being signed. There are many detailed issues. Our position is that first of all the document should be high-quality. This document will create the legal framework of our future cooperation, therefore we are making efforts so that this document is high-quality,â€ he said.

The association agreement is the legal document that will create legal framework for Azerbaijan-European Union cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. The first round of the negotiations on the agreement was held in Brussels in October.
