EU Commissioner: “We need to recognize that the Eastern Partnership is still in its infancy”

European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Štefan Füle, has told an audience at the Centre for Eastern Studies in Warsaw, APA reports.

Štefan Füle insisted that within the Eastern Partnership differentiation exists, which is ’unavoidable’ due to the different state of the legal framework, and the different state of institutions in the five countries concerned (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine).

In his view, “financial allocations should be much higher for those countries that undertake real reforms when implementing Association Agreements and their DCFTAs, which involve taking over significant parts of the acquis.”
