Baku hosts “NATO after Lisbon summit: New Strategic concept” - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

Baku. Victoria Dementieva – APA. “NATO Lisbon summit is a historic event in terms of the alliance and international relations as well”, Romanian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Nicolae Ureche said at the conference entitled “NATO after Lisbon summit: New strategic concept” in Baku. The conference was organized by the Romanian embassy in Baku, which is NATO coordinator for Azerbaijan, and NATO-Azerbaijan Cooperation Institute. It was dedicated to the alliance’s new strategic concept adopted in the NATO Lisbon summit in November and relations with Azerbaijan. Ambassador Ureche reminded that NATO supported the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Georgia in the summit.

Polish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Michal Labenda emphasized the summit’s importance and said NATO-Russian Council’s meeting also had an important role in confidence-building and transparency between the sides. “Both sides can only take benefit from that”.

Georgian charge d’affaires in Azerbaijan Nicoloz Gogitidze said his country was interested in the development of relationship with NATO. He focused attention on the recognition of the Georgian internationally-recognized borders in the Lisbon summit.

Director of the East-West Research Center Arastun Orujlu and leader of Musavat Party Isa Gambar also addressed the event.
