Baku. Rashad Suleymanov – APA. “The materials released by WikiLeaks are provocative, the aim is to confront Azerbaijan and Turkey,” chief of socio-political department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov said, APA reports.

According to Ali Hasanov, Azerbaijani President said the country supports diversification in the policy on gas export, there are bitter practices concerning it in the world, therefore, Azerbaijan is pursuing energy policy that will not make it dependant on any country, organization.

But despite all this, Azerbaijan overcame the pressures, ensured the pipeline’s passing through Turkey. Can the head of the state that did it say such a word? Of course, President has never said this, this is just an editing made in line with the interests,” he said.

Ali Hasanov said some are also trying to confront Azerbaijan and Iran.
“Some are seeking foothold to exert pressure on Iran. Our compatriots are living in Iran, we have got relations with this country. We have always stated that Azerbaijan can be a foothold for friendships, cooperation,” he said.
