Ambassador Ilgar Mukhtarov presents his credentials to President of Costa Rica

Baku â€“ APA. Azerbaijanâ€™s ambassador to Mexico Ilgar Mukhtarov presented his credentials on simultaneous appointment as ambassador to the Republic of Costa Rica to President Laura Chinchilla Miranda and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Religion Rene Castro Salazar, Azerbaijani embassy in Mexico told APA. The issues on development of the bilateral relations, including educational, cultural, economic relations were discussed at the meetings.

Meeting with President Laura Chinchilla ambassador Ilgar Mukhtarov conveyed the greetings of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to his counterpart and said he will do his best for the development of the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Costa Rica.

Touching on Armeniaâ€™s aggression against Azerbaijan Ilgar Mukhtarov gave information about the occupied territories, process of negotiations on the resolution of the conflict. Ambassador said Azerbaijan respects the norms and principles of the international law, particularly the principle of statesâ€™ territorial integrity and inviolability of borders and considers that the international community should demonstrate the relevant principled position with regard to Azerbaijan.

President Laura Chinchilla said she supports Azerbaijanâ€™s territorial integrity and the countryâ€™s position on the conflict.

Following the meeting, the state anthem of Azerbaijan Republic was played at the special ceremony on occasion of presentation of the credentials by ambassador Ilgar Mukhtarov.

Ilgar Mukhtarov also met with director of Costa Rica Diplomacy Institute Jose Joaquin Chaverri Sievert. The sides reviewed the prospects of cooperation between the diplomatic institutions of the two countries.
