Bernard Fassier refused to comment on reports on Armenian presidentâ€™s absence in Astana summit

The mediator refused to answer the question â€œHow will the mediatorsâ€™ attitude be towards Armeniaâ€™s position in the process of negotiations in case of absence of the Armenian president in the Astana summit?â€, he called the question hypothetic.
â€œIt is impossible to answer hypothetical questions in the life and diplomacy,â€ he said.
Asked whether the co-chairs have new proposals to the sides Bernard Fassier said he has been participating in the process of negotiations for six years.
â€œYou know that three years ago we offered Madrid principles to the sides and since then we have been working on this document to eliminate particular difficulties. These are not new proposals,â€ he said.

The summit of the heads of state and government of OSCE members will be held in Astana on December 1-2. Nagorno Karabakh conflict is expected to be discussed at the summit. Armenian media reports that Armenian president will not attend the summit.
