Armeniaâ€™s attempts of falsification prevented at session of UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee

Foreign Ministryâ€™s press service told APA that the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity will be enriched by new elements. On this occasion, the Committee will examine nominations from 29 States, including Azerbaijan with its nomination of â€œThe Azerbaijani Carpetâ€. As a result of discussions and voting, Azerbaijanâ€™s nomination of â€œThe Azerbaijani Carpetâ€ was included in the List of UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Armeniaâ€™s next attempts of falsification were prevented at the session. Thus, Armenian delegationâ€™s nomination on carpets was discussed. The nomination reflected untrue information contrary to the interests of Azerbaijan. Territorial claims were put forward, Nagorno Karabakh was presented as an independent state and it was claimed as if Khachkars belonged only to Armenian people in the headline. As a result of Azerbaijani Foreign Ministryâ€™s immediate interference in the issue Armeniaâ€™s next attempts of falsification were prevented.
