“We all share the view that we are responsible for the current state in the Caspian region. Therefore, we will document the particular right of the Caspian states in the issues of regional security. If we reduce our cooperation, don’t doubt that the countries having no relation to the Caspian region will want to deal with these issues for their economic and political purposes,” he said.

Medvedev said the littoral states will adopt new documents.
“I think our achievements in various spheres, including regional security make it available to create new formats for more efficient cooperation. We will lay its legal foundation today – agreement on cooperation in the security in the Caspian Sea will be signed,” he said.

Russian President said this document makes it available to expand practical opportunities to prevent new threats in the Caspian Sea.
