Azerbaijan to boost gas export to Iran

He said both countries should further develop relationship in the scientific-technical, energy and commercial fields. â€œWe have to attach importance to the economic, transport and energy fields particularly and needs in this sector. We have reached an agreement about the trade exchange between Azerbaijan and Iran and to boost Azerbaijanâ€™s gas export to Iranâ€.

Ahmadinejad also answered the question about the Iranâ€™s plans for gas sale to Europe. â€œIran doesnâ€™t need in gas sale to Europe. It is Europe, which needs in gas purchase. To get what they need, the European countries declared at the international arena that as if the opposite side needs in sale of gas or anything else to them. If Europe intends to buy gas from Iran, it needs to normalize relations with Iran and not to introduce Iranâ€™s achievements, particularly its nuclear affairs as a problem. In any case we are ready to go to negotiations. Iran has many gas clientsâ€.
