Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: "We consider Azerbaijanâ€™s development and security our development and security"

Baku â€“ APA. "Azerbaijani-Iranian fraternal relations are important for stability and security in the region, APA reports. Two countriesâ€™ role in maintaining and promoting peace in the region is indispensable and great as well." President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said at a joint briefing with President Ilham Aliyev.

"Today, our common views, approaches and programs are aimed to establishment peace in the region, development of the region and stability in the international arena. As my dear brother stressed, the potential of our countries is many times greater than the existing cooperation. We came to decision to expand our bilateral ties within the capabilities â€“ in the field of economy, investment, trade and transport. This is the benefit of both nations, region, peace, and stability in the region, "Ahmadinejad said.

Iran’s president said he has the similar views with President Ilham Aliyev about the region and the Caspian: "We both believe that the Caspian Sea is a sea of peace and brotherhood, everyone should rightly use the wealth of the Caspian Sea. The role of Azerbaijan and Iran in the Caspian Sea issue is a great and decisive. Under the leadership and the initiative of the esteemed Azerbaijani president the Summit of the Caspian littoral statesâ€™ presidents will be held. I believe that due to the ability of Azerbaijani president and with participation of other heads of states weâ€™ll make very good decisions in this area, and make great strides. Our views on international problems entirely coincide. We will always be next to each other and support each other in all organizations. In connection with the Karabakh problem, we also believe that this problem should be solved on the basis of justice, through negotiation, everything should be based on negotiation and fairness. We are ready to render any assistance to resolve this problem in short term through negotiations, on equitable basis and within international law. Azerbaijan’s security and development are of great importance for Iran. We consider Azerbaijanâ€™s development and security our development and security. In all international organizations and world community weâ€™ll be by Azerbaijan. We are two fraternal states. This fraternity will continue, gradually strengthen and deepen".
