Azerbaijanâ€™s permanent representative to UN, Ambassador Agshin Mehdiyev meets with Belizean foreign minister

Baku â€“ APA. Permanent representative of Azerbaijan to UN, Ambassador Agshin Mehdiyev was on a visit to Belize on November 13-16 and met with the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Belize Wilfred Elrington. The diplomats discussed the ways of strengthening the bilateral relations and prospects of the development of cooperation in all spheres of the mutual interests and improvement of treaty-legal basis of the cooperation, sources at the Azerbaijanâ€™s permanent representation to UN told APA.

Agshin Mehdiyev mentioned the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict and informed the Belizean minister about the occupation of Azerbaijani lands as a result of aggression by the neighboring country and Azerbaijanâ€™s position on this conflict.

The diplomats discussed the issues interested both countries within the international organizations, which members they are, and emphasized the necessity of the development of consultations in this direction.

Both sides pointed out the importance of the permanent high-level meetings to discuss the possibility of bilateral cooperation in the political, economic, technical, education and cultural fields.
