PACE Standing Committee highly values Azerbaijan’s parliamentary elections

The parliamentarians, who observed the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan and Bosnia and Herzegovina, said participation of the opposition parties in the elections was secured and there were no law infringements or confrontation during the voting process. The Committee specially emphasized the role of the Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission in high-level organizing the elections, APA reports quoting AzerTAC news agency.

PACE President Mevlut Cavusoglu said in his welcoming speech that Turkey, which holds the presidency in the organization and Committee of the Ministers, is fully supporting the reforms in the Council of Europe. Another priority for Ankara is the reforms in the European Court of Human Rights.

Then Turkey’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu addressed the meeting.
