Discussion of draft resolution on Nagorno Karabakh in NATO PA postponed by Azerbaijanâ€™s proposal

Ziyafat Asgarov said the Azerbaijani delegation will not attend the meeting of NATO PA in Poland from 13 till 16 November, because of the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. Ziyafat Asgarov said the NATO PA President was officially appealed for postponing the discussion of the draft resolution by the next session and a positive decision was made.
â€œThe reports of the Armenian side that the discussion of the draft resolution was postponed due to their serious efforts are false. We appealed for postponing the discussion and the proposal was accepted,â€ he said.

Ziyafat Asgarov said the draft resolution also covers the fact of occupation of the Azerbaijani territories by Armenia. The Azerbaijani side prepared proposals on other additions to the resolution. The draft resolution consists of six articles.

First vice-speaker of the parliament said the parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan were fair and transparent.
â€œI hope other issues, appeals, complaints to the Central Election Commission will be investigated and proper decisions will be passed,â€ he said.
