Baku. Viktoria Dementyeva – APA. “Azerbaijan and the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe are cooperating very well,” representative of the Venice Commission Tanja Gerwien told APA.

She said Azerbaijan accepted about 20 recommendations within the years of cooperation with Venice Commission.
“We are cooperating well. Very good relations have been established between the Venice Commission and Azerbaijan. I think this is a positive moment. The Constitutional department of the Venice Commission is not considering a case related to Azerbaijan. We have not received a questionnaire to work on the recommendations related to Azerbaijan. We had recommendations on some issues. Our duty is to give recommendations, it is up to the country to accept the recommendations or not,” she said.

Tanja Gerwien appreciated the celebration of the 15th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Constitution.
“You have passed a long way. We have chosen the democracy. We will continue cooperation in this field in future,” she said.
