Washington DC to host conference on US-Azerbaijani relations

Washington. Isabel Levine – APA. US-Azerbaijani relations will be discussed on top level on November 9th in Washington DC, APA’s US correspondent was told at the Jamestown Foundation.

The conference, organized by the Jamestown Foundation and the Central Asia-Caucasus Institute will discuss “State of the partnership” at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.

Political analysts and officials will discuss such issues as the Changing Strategic Environment of the South Caucasus, main challenges towards peace and stability.

The conference will be attended by Glen Howard from the Jamestown Foundation, Elkhan Nuriyev, Director, Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Vladimir Socor, Senior Fellow, The Jamestown Foundation, Frederick Starr, Chairman, Central-Asia Caucasus Institute, SAIS, Ambassador Richard Morningstar, Special Envoy for Eurasian Energy, U. S. State Department, Zbigniew Brzezinski, Counselor and Trustee, Center for Strategic and International Studies.

The participants will address Azerbaijan’s foreign policy and great power politics, pluses and minuses of US-Azerbaijani dialog, energy policy on the Caspian Sea, Azerbaijan’s role in the world and in the region.

The discussion will also be attended by journalists, diplomats and students.
