Removal of â€œNagorno Karabakh Republicâ€ map and symbol from Armeniaâ€™s showroom in Tehran media exhibition by APA correspondent evokes great resonance in Armenia

Baku â€“APA. Armenian delegation, attended the 17th International Exhibition and Festival of Press and Information Agencies in Tehran, acknowledged that they lose to Azerbaijan in information war. Armenian journalists accused their colleagues that they didnâ€™t properly cover incident with the Azerbaijani journalists during the exhibition, APA reports quoting Panarmenian news agency.

â€œWe gave numerous interviews to the Iranian media about the incident between the Azerbaijani and Armenian journalists. Unfortunately Armenian media didnâ€™t focus attention on this incident unlike Azerbaijanis and Turks. I also regret that many Armenian news agencies quoted APA news agency, cause of that incident, in their reportsâ€, said Azg newspaperâ€™s reporter Asmik Arutyunyan in a press conference in Yerevan.

Panarmenian reporter Ekaterina Pogosyan, who attended the exhibition, said Armenian mediaâ€™s reaction to this incident was belated. â€œArmenia loses to Azerbaijan in information war because mass media in Baku is working in coordination unlike Yerevanâ€™s media organizationsâ€. Editor-in-Chief of Panarmenian news agency Marina Ananikyan called on the Armenian media organizations not to avoid coverage of such incidents. â€œUnfortunately Azerbaijani side is working jointly unlike us and we lose in information war because we all are thinking about own interests, but not the nationâ€™s interestsâ€.

The 17th International Press and Information Agencies Exhibition-Festival was held in Tehran on October 25 â€“ November 1. Soon after the opening ceremony of the exhibition an incident happened between the Azerbaijani and Armenian delegations, as the photos of the historical monument in Nagorno Karabakh introduced as the symbol of Artsakh, flag and map of â€œNagorno Karabakh Republicâ€ were hanged in the Armenian showroom. At first, Azerbaijani delegation demanded from the Armenian journalists to give up outrageous behavior. As the opposite side refused to do it, the organizers of the exhibition were informed about it. The Armenian journalists said the organizers hanged the photo of the historical monument in Nagorno Karabakh introduced as the symbol of Artsakh.
â€œTherefore, we thought that we could demonstrate the photo of the map and flag of Nagorno Karabakh,â€ they said.
In response to it, the organizers said the Armenian side had given them the photo during the preparation process, they immediately gave instructions to remove the photos.

During the incident the correspondent of APA information agency Suleyman Farzaliyev pulled down the map of â€œNagorno Karabakhâ€ and the photo introduced as the symbol of the separatist region. The Turkish journalists demonstrated solidarity with the Azerbaijani journalists and said together with their Azerbaijani colleagues they will not participate in the exhibition if Armenians do not give up outrageous behavior.
