Galust Sahakyan, head of parliamentary faction of the Republican Party led by President Serzh Sargsyan, read the statement.

The statement says that the coalition parties – Republican Party, Prosperous Armenia Party and Orinats Yerkir Party believe the recognition of Nagorno Karabakh both on the international level and by Armenia has no alternative. But the members of the coalition consider that at present this step does not coincide with Armenia’s interests, as it contradicts the logic of the negotiations and the country’s constructive position within the framework of OSCE Minsk Group. The document says that at the appropriate moment the coalition will prepare a bill about it or support similar legislative initiative of other political forces.

The author of the bill, leader of the Heritage Party Raffi Hovannisian said at the meeting with chairman of the parliament and representatives of the coalition that they reached agreement to postpone the voting by December 9.
