According to the Congressman, “The massacre that took place in the town of Khojaly during the month of February in 1992 is atrocious. The conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh between Armenia and Azerbaijan has gone on for too long and has cost many innocent livesâ€.
The congress member agrees that the dead should be commemorated and the best way to do so is to achieve a lasting peace between the warring parties.
“I will raise the issue of the Khojaly massacre when I meet next with Armenian officials and will implore them to solve the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh together with their Azerbaijanian counterparts. The United States has both moral and security interests in achieving peace in the Caucasusâ€, - said Congressman Moran.
