Swiss Foreign Minister: The Council of Europe expects peaceful solution to Nagorno Karabakh conflict and has great hopes for this

APAâ€™s Europe bureau reports that following her speech, Micheline Calmy-Rey answered the questions of the parliamentarians.

Member of the Azerbaijani delegation Ganira Pashayeva put the following question to Swiss Foreign Minister:
â€œAs you know, over one million Azerbaijanis have been displaced for more than 15 years. These refugees and IDPs are expecting support to return to their lands. How can you help them being chairperson of the Committee of Ministers?â€

Micheline Calmy-Rey said the following:
â€œOf course, the solution of the problem of refugees first of all depends on the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict, OSCE Minsk Group is making efforts to solve the conflict. The Council of Europe expects peaceful solution to the conflict and has great hopes for this. After that though the problem of refugees and IDPs will not be solved completely â€“ thus, it requires time â€“ the solution to the problem may be included into the context of the resolution of the conflict generally.â€
