No results achieved in first round of speaker election in Turkish parliament

Baku – APA. The Turkish parliament is electing its speaker. APA reports quoting Turkish media that 535 parliamentarians participated in the first round of the voting. Mehmet Ali Shahin from Justice and Development Party (AKP) gained 315 of the votes, Ilhan Kesici from Republican People’s Party (CHP) 96, Munir Kutluata from Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) 70, Hasip Kaplan from Democratic Turkey Party (DTP) 25, non-party parliamentarian Kamer Cenc got 11 of the votes.
As none of the candidates could win the 2/3 of the votes (367), the second round will be held.
According to the rules, if speaker of the Turkish parliament is not elected in the second round, the third and forth rounds will be held tomorrow. 2/3 of the parliamentarians (367) must vote to elect the speaker in the first two rounds, 276 votes are required in the third round. Two candidates gaining most of the votes must compete in the fourth round. The candidate winning most of the votes will be declared speaker of the parliament.
