The Foreign Ministry calls on the citizens to postpone travels to the countries where the disease has been recorded, spokesman for Foreign Ministry Elkhan Polukhov told APA when asked what measures the ministry will take in connection with the swine flu in Azerbaijan.
“Health Ministry should take necessary measures,” Polukhov said.
He noted that the Foreign Ministry posted the notice about traveling on the official website and the information is updated as the disease reaches more countries.

Polukhov said the officers of Azerbaijani diplomatic missions abroad are warned to take necessary measures to protect themselves from this infection.
“All of the diplomats working abroad have been insured and they can apply to the medical facilities using the medical insurance,” he said.

The notice posted on the Foreign Ministry’s website says:
“With the aim of protection from the deceases and dangers of pandemics and epidemic cases erupted or supposed to occur in the different parts of the world, it is recommended for the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who intend to travel abroad and the people who travel to the Republic of Azerbaijan to apply for the relevant inoculation, vaccination and medical examination.”
Azerbaijani citizens are recommended to contact embassies and consulates in case of emergency situations and other dangers. The citizens are also told that the Foreign Ministry is not responsible for the happenings during the traveling.
No region or country of the world is insured against a terror attack or an emergency situation.
