At their 1062nd meeting, the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers’ Deputies considered the activities for the development and consolidation of democratic stability in Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Belarus. According to APA, concerning Azerbaijan, the Ministers’ Deputies approved a co-operation programme for the period 2009-2010.
The programme includes 22 projects in particular for the strengthening of human rights protection, the fight against corruption and money laundering, support for the reform of the penitentiary system, electoral assistance and local democracy. A number of the projects will be financed under Joint Programmes with the European Commission.
