Sixth round of discussions on security and stability in South Caucasus held in Geneva

Geneva – APA. The sixth round of the discussions on security and stability in the South Caucasus was held in Geneva yesterday, APA reports quoting the Russian Foreign Ministry. The co-chairs of Geneva discussions were the European Union, UN and OSCE. The representatives from Georgia, Russia and US, as well as breakaway Abkhazia and South Ossetia attended the discussions. Russian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, State Secretary Grigory Karasin led the Russian delegation. Representatives of Russia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia underlined the importance of signing agreements on non-use of force between Georgia and Abkhazia and Georgia and South Ossetia. The sides also reached agreement to work out mechanism to immediately investigate and prevent the incidents on the line of contact. Agreement was also reached to apply such a mechanism on Georgia-Abkhazia conflict zone. The next round of Geneva discussions will be held on September 17.
