U.S. embassy-constituted award named after Hafiz Pashayev presented

The award named after Hafiz Pashayev constituted by the U.S. embassy has been presented to the founders of the Azerbaijan International magazine Betty Blair and Pirouz Khanlou, APA reports. U.S. ambassador to Azerbaijan Anne Derse said the award constituted by the U.S. embassy had been first presented to Hafiz Pashayev himself. The ambassador said the award was presented for the contributions in US-Azerbaijan relations.
The first Azerbaijani ambassador to US Hafiz Pashayev spoke about the history of the Azerbaijan International. According to Hafiz Pashayev, the Azerbaijan International promoted Azerbaijan in the United States, as Molla Nasraddin magazine promoted Azerbaijan once.
He said the magazine played an important role in spreading Azerbaijanâ€™s truths.
Following this, Betty Blair and Pirouz Khanlou addressed the event.
