Russian president arrives in Azerbaijan today

The presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia will discuss the issues of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of economy, trade and fuel-energy sector, APA reports quoting RIA-Novosty. Chairman of Gazprom Board of Governors Alexei Miller said they were looking forward to sigh an agreement on sale of Azerbaijanâ€™s Shahdeniz gas to Russia. He said in the first phase they would purchase small volume of the gas, but then would increase it. Miller said they made very useful proposals to Azerbaijan.

The strengthening of interregional relations and cultural-humanitarian cooperation will be in the focus of attention during the visit. Ilham Aliyev and Dmitriy Medvedev will also discuss the settlement of Nagorno Karabakh conflict and determination of the Caspian legal status.

Days of Azerbaijani Culture will be started in Russia on Monday.
