Ganira Pashayeva meets with representatives of the foreign associations in the Azerbaijani House in Strasbourg

Strasbourg. Ganira Pashayeva â€“APA. Member of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Ganira Pashayeva met with the representatives of the Strasbourg-based foreign associations in the Azerbaijani House in Strasbourg, APA European bureau reports. Members of the Azerbaijani Diaspora, Azerbaijani students studying in the universities of Strasbourg and media representatives also attended the meeting.

Participants of the meeting focused attention on the role of women in the cross-culture dialogue. Pashayeva informed the participants about Azerbaijan, its culture, history, literature, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, occupation of the Azerbaijani lands by Armenia and bad consequences of this problem. Then the member of the parliament spoke about the importance of the cross-culture and inter-religions dialogue, an active role of the women in this process, and Azerbaijanâ€™s important role in launching of dialogue between Europe and Asia. Pashayeva said the women would play an important role in the extension of cross-culture dialogue in contemporary world and Europe, establishing and strengthening of peace and sustainable development, prevention of various discriminations. She said the cross-culture dialogue could be an important mean in this field and Azerbaijan took an active part in this process.

Pashayeva spoke about the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in the development of cross-culture and inter-religions dialogue and said the Foundation organized the number of international conferences on cultural diversity and cross-religions dialogue. The member of the parliament reminded about the international conference on the extension of the womenâ€™s role in cross-culture dialogue organized in Baku on the initiative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. â€œAzerbaijani people respect all religions and cultures, historical, religious and cultural monuments of all people. It is an indication of high-level tolerance of our peopleâ€, said Pashayeva.

Then the member of the parliament answered the questions of the participants.
