Baku –APA. Germany wants Turkey and Russia to join the Eastern Partnership Program, said special representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany for the Caucasus and Central Asian countries Hans Dieter Lukas, APA reports quoting UNIAN. He said the government of Germany insisted in involvement of Russia and Turkey in the Eastern Partnership projects. He reminded that Russia was dissatisfied with this program. “Everything depends on that whether do we want to establish relations based on retro rivalry or to create synergy? I guess the European Union has a univocal answer to that. It chooses the second option. We don’t see any contradiction between the Eastern Partnership Program and the strategic partnership with Russia.

The Eastern Partnership constituent meeting was held in Prague on May 7, 2009. Six post-soviet countries – Azerbaijan, Georgia, Armenia, Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus participate in the program.
