Baku. Lachin Sultanova – APA. Historical essay “Genocide of Azerbaijani people (1905-1994)” by Lithuanian historian, ethnologist and political observer Imantas Melyanas has been published in the scientific magazine “Genocidas ir rezistencija”, co-founder of Lithuania-Azerbaijan Association Vitaliyus Karakorskis told APA. The magazine is published by Lithuania Genocide Research and People’s Resistance Center. Karakorskis said it is the first scientific work on this theme published in the state-run scientific publications of the Baltic states and the aim is to inform the readers about one more tragic page of the history.
“This essay is about the genocide against Azerbaijani people, not about Armenian-Azerbaijani, Armenian-Turkish relations. According to the essay, Armenia’s refusing to solve the bloody conflict basing on the international norms and principles, withdraw from the occupied territories, pay for the damage, admit the genocide committed against Azerbaijani people, do not allow Armenia itself to normalize the relations with the neighboring countries. It allows Russia, which wants to realize its destructive geopolitical targets in the Caucasus, to manipulate the “frozen conflicts” and its participants,” he said.
